At Emicela we contribute actively to the social, economic and environmental improvement through a series of practices and strategies. As a result we integrate this into our business philosophy in order to reduce the impact of our processes to the environment to promote the reduction of social inequalities.
For more than twenty years we have collaborated with disabled centres in the communities of the Canary Islands, Andalusia, Madrid and Castilla La Mancha, thus, contributing economically to the NGOs and to the social integration of its members. Gluten-free candies are also produced at the candy factory in Córdoba.
In relation to the environment, our company pays special attention to waste management, energy saving and reducing the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere. Likewise, we are concerned with reducing the impact and encouraging the recycling of the containers we put on the market, including designing our own models of recyclable packaging and biodegradable products. That is why we have reduced the diesel burners by gas burners, producing a saving of 20% in fuel. We are in the process of replacing diesel with gas.
With respect to our team, we have opted for a stable staff and more than 80% of the group’s staff is fixed. The monitoring of the safety, health and well-being of our team is also an elementary foundation, which is why we actively work to reduce accidents at work, integrating awareness and training for this purpose.
